The best part about the Kiss Proof Lip Stains (besides the fact that they are matte) is that they are wonderfully light on the lips. The long-lasting formula, along with the unique applicator and amazing pigmentation, makes this range a must-have. While Haute Latte, a gorgeous everyday brown, is their fastest selling shade, I’d suggest picking Rustic, which is a beautiful muted orange that you can easily wear to work or a party without feeling OTT. 2. Diana Of London 2000 Kisses – Red Rose (Rs 564)

The 2000 Kisses range has a host of shades that will have you tearing out your hair in despair. So many lovely colours, so little money. Gawd! Why you so unfair? The shade Red Rose, contrary to its name, is a deep brown shade which has red undertones (I’ve worn it here). The formula of the lipstick is an intense matte that I absolutely love. The pigmentation is insane and the colour lasts for over 8 hours, which is nothing short of a miracle if you have oily skin and live in a place that’s perennially humid.

 

3. Chambor Extreme Wear Transferproof Liquid Lipstick – 461 (Rs 845)

This lightweight lipstick dries to a complete matte that does not budge for over 8 hours. The liquid lipstick takes a little while to settle down to a matte finish that is waterproof and smudge-proof. The shade 461 is a lovely peachy-coral with cool undertones. While one swipe of the lipstick is appropriate for a day at work, two swipes will make you party-ready!

 

4. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream – Copenhagen (Rs 799)

The Soft Matte Lip Creams from NYX are testimony to the fact that when a product is almost always sold-out, it says a lot about the product. The Lip Creams go on smoothly and settle down to a satin matte finish. The shade Copenhagen is a deep burgundy colour that is beyond beautiful. The colour stays put for hours without budging, fading, creasing and feathering.

 

5. M.A.C. Retro Matte Liquid Lipstick – Feels So Grand (Rs 1,850)

Feel So Grand is an exquisite deep tomato red colour that will look flattering on every Indian skin tone. The lipstick is pigmented, dries down to a complete matte and stays where it’s meant to be for hours on end.
