The Best Bollywood Hairstyles From IIFA 2017

The Best Bollywood Hairstyles From IIFA 2017

There was a lot to see during this year’s New York edition of the IIFA awards. But today, we’re focussing solely on the hair.

An award show means 4 things — celebrities, outfits, makeup, and hair. Of course, the awards themselves are important, but for us, taking inspiration and recreating these styles is too much fun to ignore.

So if you have a formal occasion to attend, or even a wedding for that matter, we picked out some of the best hairstyles we spotted at the 2017 IIFA weekend.

There’s one for every occasion — all you need to do is save it and show it to your stylist. And hey, don’t be afraid to try these yourself. Remember, practice makes perfect!

Keep scrolling and comment below to let us know which is the one you’re going to try first.

1. Alia Bhatt

Alia Bhatt’s hairdo features the one thing every girl wants — volume. Backcomb the top section of your hair and tie all of it in a ponytail. Once that’s done, run your fingers through the top and individually loosen sections of your hair.

Then, tie the ponytail in a bun. The textured bun requires a bit of hairspray to keep everything in place but the end result is stunning.

2. Disha Patani

Curl your hair with your tong — the tighter the better. Once that’s done, lightly loosen it with your fingers while spraying it simultaneously. Push all of it to one side and tie it.

For the bun, take small sections of hair, twist it, and pin it to the side of your head to create a messy effect. Leave some loose strands to frame your face.

3. Shilpa Shetty Kundra

This is definitely something you won’t be able to handle by yourself so definitely have your stylist give it a go. It’s not a hairstyle we’d recommend for a wedding, but a cocktail for sure — the edgier your outfit to match, the better!

4. Neha Dhupia

This one may look complicated, but it’s fairly easy to do. By now we’re all familiar with how to tie boxer braids. Make 2 on either side of your hair and go all the way down. Clip both the braids on opposite sides and that’s it! You could even tie it into one thick braid at the back, depending on the occasion.

5. Kriti Sanon

The most versatile hairdo of the lot, this one can be done on any hair type and to pretty much any function. All you need to do is part it down the middle, use some spray or gel to slick it back and tightly secure it at the back. You could bun it up, if you want it even neater.

6. Dia Mirza

One hairstyle over the whole weekend was fit for a princess and it belonged to Dia Mirza. Beachy waves were pulled back from the front in a twist, and pinned to the back of her head. It’s simple to do and so elegant, at the same time.

7. Kalki Koechlin

If there was an award for the edgiest look over the weekend, it would go to Kalki Koechlin. Everything from her outfit, makeup, accessories, and hair fit the theme and she looked fantastic!

We’re loving the slicked back sides she has going on here — especially since it shows off her cool ear accessory.
