Once a year, stunning women from around the world descend on the red carpet at the Cannes Film Festival. Now, let’s admit it. We know they are going to be walking the carpet, and they might be doing it for a movie or for a makeup brand, but really, we are only there for the drama their makeup looks promise. On a normal day, we can’t get our winged liner to match, but it when it comes to Cannes looks, we are judging beauty and makeup looks like next door aunties.
So, obviously, we have been glued to Instagram for regular updates about the looks, the makeup, the styling, the hair, and everything else. This year, Cannes had some very, very interesting makeup and hair looks. Here’s a look at the ones that really impressed us.
Deepika Padukone
Can we state the obvious? We couldn’t look past the drama of this dress. But then we did because that makeup was S-T-E-L-L-A-R! The fabulous and structured smokey eyes elevated the look, but the nude lips really brought home the look.
Sonam Kapoor
She experiments with fashion and makeup, and she tells us stories of what goes on behind the scenes, so Sonam Kapoor has our vote when it comes to being fun. At Cannes, one of her looks was a white shirt and jeans. Hmm, very ho hum, you say. She brought the fun to the party with her deep, dark lips and soft eye makeup.
Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
That look in white? Yeah, not ah-mazing. But the makeup and hair? That was something. Great skin is always in, and that was the case here as well. The eyes were defined with eyeliner and kohl, the lips were nude, and the highlighter was strong enough to blind. The hair was structured and interesting.
Kangana Ranaut
Gradient smokey eyes with sharp lines, soft peach lips, and a whole lotta drama with the curls, what’s not to love about this look? Plus, Kangana has the sass to carry this off!
Winnie Harlow
The popular model sashayed down the red carpet in soft, brown smokey eyes and (this might sound repetitive) nude lips. The light green on the lower lash line made this look stand out.
Mahira Khan
The Pakistani actress sported red lips and a classic winged eyeliner. Her face was strongly contoured, and the look worked for her. She looked fabulous!
