Amazon Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2017 closed with design maestro JJ Vallaya weaving magic on the ramp. While the final two days of the fashion extravaganza saw a number of haute trends take to the runways, the beauty and makeup looks had us bowled over too. Here’s the the final round-up of #AIFWSS17’s beauty trends — trends that are here to stay!
1. Gloss Is The Ultimate Highlighter
Everyone seems to be obsessed with highlighter, and sure, gloss has been done before, but this time, it’s here to stay. Combine the trends and you can highlight the high points of your face with gloss, instead of a shimmer highlighter…or, maybe both? As OTT as it is, I would love experimenting with this kind of look.
2. Clean Skin Never Goes Out Of Fashion
This one always rings true. Add a random pop of colour, bring a simple look alive, or emphasize the cheekbones — whatever the addition may be, clean skin never gets old. Some of my favourite looks are the kinds where the concentration is all on the skin, pure and simple, and yet somehow, you can’t look away. Over the weekend, the looks at Amit Aggarwal’s show and Not So Serious by Pallavi Mohan showcased some flawless skin!
3. Metallic Retro Lips
Remember back in the ’90s when metallic lips were all the rage? Well, guess what’s back with a bang! It’s on runways the world over, and cosmetic lines are following suit to. Check out the really cool Pankaj & Nidhi beauty looks. This is one trend I would love to try for a night out.
JJ Valaya and Alpana & Neeraj closed the show with a big bang. The grand finale encompassed most, if not all, the big beauty trends we saw on the runway over the course of the week. From Day 1 to now, we’ve taken notes of beauty trends like tribal elements, graphic liner, metallic lips, glitter, and more! We saw a perfect coming together of all these trends on the grand finale stage.
