New Year, new me? Nope, not this time. While everyone is busy making beauty goals they probably won’t stick to, I’m taking a different route no unrealistic resolutions, no guilt trips, and definitely no pretending to be that girl who has it all together. So, here’s a list of beauty resolutions I’m not making this year because life is messy, and I’m fine with it.
1) I’m Not Chasing Glass Skin Perfection
Let’s be real glass skin looks gorgeous on Instagram, but achieving that dewy, poreless glow is basically a full-time job. And guess what? I already have one. Between long commutes, office ACs sucking the life out of my skin, and the stress of endless deadlines, there are bound to be bad skin days. And you know what? That’s okay! My skin is a reflection of my real, busy life, not some filtered fantasy. So, no, I’m not making a resolution to achieve flawless skin this year. I’ll aim for healthy skin instead, and if that includes the occasional breakout, so be it.
2) I’m Not Washing My Beauty Blender
Look, I know you’re supposed to clean your beauty blender after every use, but let’s not lie to ourselves here—nobody is doing that. I mean, who has time to deep-clean a sponge after blending out concealer at 7 a.m.? I’d rather just buy a new one every few months and keep it moving. So, no, I’m not adding “wash my beauty blender weekly” to my to-do list because I’d only feel guilty when I don’t do it. Life’s too short for unnecessary guilt.
3) I’m Not Giving Up My Hot Tools
The internet loves to hype heatless curls as the healthier, cooler alternative to curling irons, but let me tell you my fine hair hates them. The waves don’t hold, the frizz stays, and I end up looking like a poodle that got caught in the rain. On the other hand, my curling iron gives me smooth, glossy waves that scream effortless (even though it’s definitely not). So no, I’m not quitting my hot tools. The shine and bounce are worth it.

4) I’m Not Committing to Fancy Facial Tools
Gua sha stones, jade rollers, LED masks sure, they’re cute, but do they really make a difference if you only use them once a week? Because let’s be honest, that’s all the effort I can manage. I’d rather stick to a simple skincare routine that I can actually keep up with than collect tools I’ll abandon after a month. Skincare should be effective, not a chore.
5) I’m Not Trying Every DIY Beauty Trend
Instagram I love you, but I’m done experimenting with kitchen ingredients on my face. Every year there’s a new game-changing DIY beauty hack, and every year I end up regretting it. (Banana peel face masks? Never again.) My skin is sensitive, my patience is limited, and my life does not need any more unnecessary chaos. So this year, I’m leaving the DIYs to the beauty influencers.
Here’s the bottom line: 2025 is about keeping it real, not perfect. My beauty routine is here to work for me not the other way around. So instead of stressing about unattainable goals, I’m focusing on what makes me feel confident and happy, even if it’s not Instagram-approved. And honestly? That’s the only resolution I need.
