The Crazy Good Beauty Benefits Of Honey

The Crazy Good Beauty Benefits Of Honey

A little birdie told us that the secret to Kareena Kapoor Khan’s glowing skin is a honey facial that she swears by. It’s no shocker as honey has many great properties and anti-oxidants in it. So we decided to dig deeper into the benefits of this wonder product. Watch this video to find out some of the natural beauty benefits of Winnie The Pooh’s favourite, honey

1. Chapped lips who?

Suffering from chapped and dry lips? Don’t lick and smack them. Instead, apply a thin layer of honey before going to bed, and wake up to soft lips. The moisturising texture of honey will help naturally condition and hydrate your lips.  Honey is a natural emollient, plus it has a high ratio of antioxidants and vitamin E, that remove pigmentation from the lips, trap moisture in the skin tissue, making your lips supple and smooth.

2. Bye Bye, Acne Scars & Pimples

Have an uninvited guest? Zap that zit away with, honey! Apply honey to the affected area and seal it in with a bandage. Leave it on overnight and rise it with water the next morning. The antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, healing, and cleansing properties make it effective in treating acne.

3. Hello shiny hair

For those of you suffering from split ends,  here is a natural conditioning hair mask for you. Mix your honey with olive oil. Apply it just to ends of your hair, to moisturise and treat dry ends. Humectant properties of honey help regulate and retain moisture in the hair, plus honey is said to strengthen hair follicles for healthy growth.

4. Honey Facial

It’s time to give your skin some TLC with a honey facial. A honey face mask treatment has been used for centuries and it is very effective on the skin as it builds your skin’s defences against bacterial and fungal infections. It makes skin soft, supple and bright. Mix one part of honey with two parts of aloe vera gel. Apply this mixture on your skin as a DIY face mask. Let it sit for about 20-40 minutes and wash it off with lukewarm water. This mask will instantly give you refreshed, glowing and hydrated skin.

5. Banish those Black Heads

Can’t seem to get rid of those pesky blackheads on your nose? The solution is simple. Mix a little honey with lemon juice and apply to the affected area for best results.
