Skincare is an elaborate process. It’s not enough to just use face wash followed by moisturiser. While both of those are good for your skin, it is also essential to eat the right kind of food. Indulging in junk food or other kinds of unhealthy food can wreak havoc on your skin, often resulting in breakouts!

So, starting today, make sure that you’re eating right. But don’t worry. You don’t have to cook up an elaborate meal for this. All you need to do is include these 7 super foods in your diet and they’re guaranteed to give you healthy, glowing skin. Supplement your daily tins of rouge and foundation with these natural ingredients and you’ll see the difference!

1. Carrots

Carrots contain a lot of betacarotene, an antioxidant. This antioxidant gets converted into Vitamin A once consumed, which helps repair old and damaged skin tissues. It also nourishes your skin, leaving it looking fresh and young.

2. Tomatoes

Tomatoes and tomato-based food will give you healthy and glowing skin by treating open pores and preventing signs of ageing. Tomatoes contain a high amount of Vitamin C, which leads to glowing skin. You could apply a bit of tomato juice onto your skin, or cook up a storm using tomatoes!

3. Strawberries

Who doesn’t love strawberries? The fresh red colour, the wholesome, juicy goodness… I think it’s sheer perfection! High in Vitamin C and folic acid, these fruits are essential when it comes to good, healthy skin. Vitamin C fights free radicals that take away the oxygen content in your skin cells and is really good for your skin. Folic acid, on the other hand, helps in the regeneration of cells. Say goodbye to dull, dry skin with strawberries.

4. Spinach

Spinach, as I’m sure you all know, is rich in iron and antioxidants that keep your skin healthy. It helps transport oxygen evenly throughout your body, which also helps to promote blood flow. So if you’re worried about looking like a pale zombie, start eating spinach STAT!

5. Oranges

If I had a rupee for every time someone told me that oranges were great for the skin, I’d be rich! Jokes apart, oranges truly are wonderful for the skin. The fruit, as well as its peels, contain Vitamin C. Drinking a glass of orange juice on a regular basis, or preparing a face mask using the peels, can actually reduce dark spots, lines, and wrinkles! To add to it, oranges also give your skin a healthy glow.

6. Beetroots

Beetroots are rich in iron and a host of other vitamins and minerals. A glass of beetroot juice can deeply nourish the skin by pumping out all the unhealthy toxins from your body. If you want smooth, clear skin, make beetroots your bestie.

7. Pomegranates

This jewel-like fruit is packed with antioxidants which prevent your skin from ageing, and also nourish it from the inside out. It fights all the free radicals that are harmful to the skin, leaving behind skin that is healthier. What’s more, crushed pomegranate seeds can also be used as a natural skin exfoliator.
