Makeup is not just about expression but also about experimenting. When trends take over the internet, we cannot help but give them a try. Similarly, the year 2025 brought in multiple makeup trends with a lot of variety in looks. This includes playing around with metallic shades or making our skin look flawlessly dewy. Uff, we can’t get over some of the makeup looks we saw this year. Now that the year is ending, it’s time to reflect on these trends that helped us take our makeup game to the next level.

1. Metallic Twist

Yes, we get it! Whenever we see bold or metallic hues in our eyeshadow palette, we are hesitant to use them as we don’t want to appear “too much.” But whenever we spotted someone, whipping a look with metallic and shimmer, we couldn’t get our eyes off of them. The itch to try it took over and we loved how it turned out. We know you have an untouched metallic shade in your eyeshadow palette. It’s time that you finally use it.

2. All Hail Lipstains!

Talking about the 2025 makeup trends without mentioning the surge in lipstains? We can’t afford to commit that crime. Let’s acknowledge it, Korean stars have always been using them for a long time but this year, the trend went global. Lipstains, especially those inspired by berry and wine tones took the spotlight. The best thing about it was that you could keep your makeup minimal and just apply them. It’s a timesaver and it effortlessly pulls the whole look together.

3. The Blush Takeover

This year, many showed their fearlessness while using heavy blushes. In 2025, people did not just stick to using blush on their cheeks. They also flaunted it on their nose and sometimes on their temples and eyelids as well. This makeup trend was all about softness. Remember, blush is an important step in a makeup routine but don’t be afraid to go a little overboard! Will we be able to get over this trend in 2026? Chances are very slim!

4. 90s Bronzed Look

This year, people went back in time and took inspiration from 90s models who were famous for their toasted makeup looks. Embracing holiday tan, celebrities like Ananya Panday went all out. Just like many products, people didn’t hesitate to use their bronzer as it acted like the main character in this trend. This, paired with earthy tones from your eyeshadow palette and brown/ latte coloured lip shades helped one achieve that look.

5. Dewy Skin Makeup Trend

This trend was all about the “minimal makeup” look. Inspired by the runway models, the idea was to achieve a luminous glow without making it look like we applied heavy makeup. To achieve this look, the focus should be on using hydrating moisturiser, right base and tints. In case you are not into bold looks, you can definitely try out a dewy skin makeup look.
