When it comes to makeup, skincare is the most important. Uh-huh, you read that right. Not only can good, well taken care of skin make a world of a difference, but so can your prep, right before you apply makeup.
As a makeup artist, I always prep my clients by taking them through my entire skincare routine. Cleanse, tone, and moisturise, only then can primers make an entry. And if your primer is also super moisturising, then always remember — there’s no such thing as too much moisturiser.
Okay, kidding, there is, but work one layer in and then wear the primer as a veil on top. And double moisturiser is definitely a good thing.
So, without further ado, here are 10 moisturisers that work wonders before you apply your makeup. Often, you don’t even need primers when you have these moisturisers. These even make for great travel buddies.
Farsali Rose Gold Elixir (Rs 4,686) Elixirs are fancy names for serums, but trust me, this one deserves all the fluff in the world. Their rose gold elixir is a hit amongst all beauty bloggers and was first introduced by Farah Dukkai, the queen of skincare.1. Farsali Elixirs

Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre (Rs 1,758) This one is my personal favorite, especially for drier climates. I have oily skin, so I may not use it every day, but remember, moisturiser is key for oily skin too. Sometimes, your pores go into overdrive trying to produce oil, if you leave them too dry. So treat yourself to a thick moisturiser like this, pre-makeup, especially if you’re going for a dewy look.3. Embryolisse
