1. Apply primer and foundation before you do your eye makeup.

2. Create a dry base by using translucent powder or compact or tinted dusting powder before applying kohl to prevent smudging.

3. Use a good quality, water-proof and smudge-proof kajal or kohl pencil. You can also use a gel eyeliner to do it.

4. Avoid applying kajal on the inner corner of your eyes to prevent smudging. The inner corner of the waterline is moist and it's easy for the product to trickle down from there.

5. Instead of creating your kohl-rimmed eyes using the kajal pencil, use a thin brush to create the look with more precision.
